The joy of the Lord is our strength

Hello everyone!  I lead the service this morning at Killinghall and I was glad that there were two young teenage lads so I could get them to help me by holding the letters I had to spell alive and again.  It seemed to go well as they were happy to help as we joined in the rhyme – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Jesus is alive!  6, 7, 8, 9, 10 He will come again!  I enjoyed choosing Easter hymns as they reflect the central theme of our faith.  I love to share the love and acceptance Jesus has shown me with others, so I am glad to be able to take services again.

It is a beautiful sunny day and really warm, so lovely for a Sunday day of relaxation.  We relaxed by the pond in the sunshine before we went in to have our lunch: as usual it was delicious spicy Rogan Josh with flavoured brown rice, followed by a “zesty lemon sponge” with custard; my Sunday treats.  We then returned to sit and relax by the pond in the sun, as we drank some tea.  It was lovely and relaxing.  We set off later for our leisurely half hour walk which extended to forty minutes, as we made a purchase as we started out and we had a short talk with my younger daughter Cathy and her partner Ken, who we met on our way.

I already feel refreshed by this day of rest, which is so important to prepare me for work tomorrow.  Today is the day that the Lord has made and I rejoice and am glad of it.
