Hello everyone! Last night my poor beloved was in such agony he could not get comfortable and he got up several times last night; so he had not had any real rest. It was most unusual to find him awake and alert as early as me! I even curtailed my usual lie in and I had had my breakfast and cooked bacon and egg for my beloved and set off into town by 9.30am! I am usually just cooking my breakfast from about 10am and taking my beloved some in bed on Saturday morning.
I enjoyed the walk into town and back even though it was cold and windy. It was fun getting some bargains in the sales and getting extra points on my nectar card in Debenhams. I also shopped in Oxfam and found a lovely warm lined suede coat reduced to half price of £5 and it did not make me look too dumpy! I had not really got a warm smart coat, so I am looking forward to wearing it. I just needed one or two vegetables and some milk, so I got those at Waitrose.
I then set off for home to prepare our Christmas lunch to share with Cathy for her Christmas day with us. I enjoyed seeing her open her presents, as she could only take one or two presents on her Caribbean holiday. She always enjoys life so much; her enthusiasm is infectious! She dozed with us and now she has returned to her home to start packing her things in readiness for her move to her new home. The sale will be completed next Wednesday and then, all being well, they will gradually move everything in the next few days. It will be lovely to have her so close.
My beloved has really struggled today with his pain, so I went to the chemist to see if he could take pain killers on top his other medication. I was relieved to find that he could take Paracetamol and he thought of wearing a knee and ankle support; and he looks in less pain for the first time today, thank goodness. I just hope he has a better night’s sleep tonight. I have enjoyed our Christmas with Cathy. This is the day that the Lord has made and I rejoice and am glad in it.
