A relaxing day

Hello everyone!  I had a slow and relaxing day yesterday, as the Acorn Centre was closed.  My sister Janet came round for a meal with us last night and it was good to see her.  She was very appreciative about the meal and told us all about her holiday with Fran in Switzerland, which sounded really interesting.   Fran was able to use her German, as it was the German speaking part, but Janet wished it was French, as she only knew two words in German!  They enjoyed some skiing, but Fran was exhausted, as it was not a beginner’s slope; I really admire her for her effort; I am sure I would never have managed two hours as she did.  I was concerned that Janet would not get home safely, as she was so sleepy; she is a lark more like me and prefers to get up early.  She rang to tell us she was safely home, which I was relieved about.

Today I had another slow start, but I decided to walk into town, as it was such a beautiful sunny day.  My beloved has felt shattered today, maybe after his acupuncture session, or after a week in which he has had to struggle more entertaining probably took its toll.  Bless him, he has just prepared our meal for tomorrow; it is based on minced lamb, with kidney beans, onions, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms seasoned in my beloved’s skilful way; he was so shattered, but he still was able to work his magic with the ingredients.  Fortunately he has woken up more and is coping better now.  I love to spend time with him and relax for the evening.  This is the day that the Lord has made and I rejoice and am glad in it.

Hi Auntie Helen.  Thanks for that interesting post.  It\’s fantastic the service you are performing (I know it\’s not the intention of the blog, of course!) in keeping us up to date with family goings on.  I had heard of Auntie Janet\’s and Fran\’s trip beforehand, but good to hear that all went well.  Hope you\’re having a great weekend. Love, Mark.  [Still don\’t like Windows Live Space, I am afraid.  The commenting function doesn\’t work in Firefox, and even here one can\’t add one\’s name.  Whinge over. 🙂  ]

so glad to hear that Malcolm will be able to come to Kathleen\’s celebration. I continue to be impressed by the work you are doing at the surgery. I look forward to hearing more about it next week. As Mark says, your blogs do keep us up to date with what is going on family wise! But what is Mark doing writing such things at 2.30 am – when all good folk should be in bed.
