Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust

Hello everyone!  On Wednesday it was a pleasant sunny morning with only two short showers, so Dave suggested we go to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) at Arundel that afternoon.  It was windy, but sunny and quite warm.  It was relaxing and fascinating to watch the variety of bird life.  We were particularly struck by the display of a couple of Terns as we had a drink in the café there.  It seemed as though they knew they had an audience and so they wowed us with their display.   We heard so many different sounds of which whistling ducks made an impression on me.  Dave was very knowledgeable about the birds and the environment as he is a volunteer there on a Tuesday.  My beloved had a few conversations with the birds as we walked past them.  Some of the birds chatted with us as we passed them.  My beloved was particularly thrilled to catch a glimpse of the illusive water rail scurrying amongst the reeds.  Dave had leant me his binoculars, so I could see some ducks, gulls and black swans more clearly.   The magpie geese were intriguing birds too.  It was a lovely relaxing and peaceful experience.

The sea air and relaxation made me sleep very deeply and well.
