Hello everyone! It is a lovely sunny day with a bit of a breeze but I am better off inside today, as I only have to be out a short time before I start sneezing and being stuffed up; I have done well up to now with my hay fever but it is affecting me worse at the moment. Having Harrogate Honey daily for a few years now has staved off the onset of this season’s attack but today I will have to stay out of the garden.
This morning I led the service at Harlow Hill ably supported by my two friends Brian and Fred who are worship leaders, leading the prayers and taking part in a dramatised reading. We chose hymns together for the service and it was good to prepare worship together. The theme of the service was based on Romans 7v15, ‘I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do but what I hate, I do.’ Paul knew the struggle he had to do what was right and knew only Jesus could help him. On our own we can do nothing right but with Jesus’ help we can make progress. Jesus loves and accepts us as we are and helps us love others in the same way. This is the day that the Lord has made and I rejoice and am glad in it.
